Thank you for your confidence, which is highly appreciated. We consider it highly important to handle your personal data and privacy with the utmost care.

In this privacy statement we explain which personal date we collect and use  and for which purpose when you subscribe, register or visit our website. You can also read how we protect your personal data and how you may review, check, correct, add or delete these. You are also entitled to request us to transfer your personal data to an organisation chosen by you (e.g. in case you want to effect a subscription for a similar medical journal elsewhere).

Personal data

The BJH website has an open and closed section. To access the closed area and / or certain services, personal data is requested, the user creates an account and receives a login name and password. With these login details, the user has access to parts of the website to which the user is entitled.

When registering for access to the website, you create an account. We use the information in this account to determine which form of access to the website you will receive. In doing so, we take the BJH objectives, the Public Advertising Code for Medicines and the Code of Conduct for Pharmaceutical Advertising into account. We also use this information for security purposes and for checking the misuse and / or improper use of our website, products and services that are accessible via your account. Or to adapt the use of our website to your specific preferences or interests.

We collect and use your personal data in order to supply you with a service you have requested or a product ordered by you or to be able to execute a transaction ordered by you.

Processing grounds

Ariez only processes personal data if a legal basis is provided, as described in the GDPR. The following processing grounds apply:

  1. Fullfillment of agreements
    This applies to personal data which we process on behalf of customers, subscribers, subcontractors and suppliers with whom we we have concluded an agreement for participation in our medical publications (print and/or online) and/or the development/creation of tailor-made publications (print and/or online).
  2. Legitimate interest
    Ariez has a legitimate interest to attract customers and maintain contacts and to collect personal data for this purpose.
  3. Legitimate consent
    For the use of (analytical) cookies we request the consent of those involved.
  4. Compliance with legal obligations
    Ariez is obliged to process personal data owing to several legal obligations, e.g. the Fiscale Bewaarplicht (= Dutch law on fiscal retention periods), the Invorderingswet 1990 (= Dutch law on tax collection) and the wet op de Identificatieplicht (= Dutch law on idenfitication).

Receivers of Personal Data

In order to fulfill our agreements with our customers, we cooperate with third parties in order to process and store some personal data (subprocessors). In order to protect your personal data and to comply with the GDPR, we exchange data and we have these exclusively processed and stored by subprocessors with whom we have concluded Processing agreements. Next to this we take the utmost care to ensure that these subprocessors only store personal data within the European Economic Area (EEA = the European Union, Liechtenstein and Iceland) and that these parties adhere to the EU Model Standard Clauses. EU Model Standard Clauses are standard agreements issued by the European Union with which an organisation commits itself to adhere to and respect the EU regulations regarding the GDPR. Organisations outside the European Union which are partner in the EU Data Privacy Framework indicate that they adhere to and respect the EU regulations regarding the GDPR. Through the EU Data Privacy Framework these organisations are also taken into account as (prospective) subprocessors for Ariez.

Retention period

Ariez retains your Personal Data for as long as necessary or permitted with regards to the purpose(s) for which it was obtained and as outlined in this Privacy statement. We respect the legal retention periods regarding the GDPR (we refer to the appendix Bewaartermijnen gegevens i.v.m. AVG).

Subscription print magazine

When you subscribe tot he print magazine, we use your medical registration data, name and address data, your data about your profession and workplace and possibly payment data to send you the magazine, to further register and process your subscription and to inform you of this and to keep you informed.

eNewsletter

With your consent we may use your personal data, collected through our website, to inform you about Ariez-products or -services. We offer an eNewsletter to subscribers to inform them about products and/or services of our partners. On registration your email adress will be added to our list of eNewsletter subscribers.

Contact form

When you complete the contact form on our website, or when you send us an email, the personal data you send us will be stored.

Responding to an article or blog

If you wish to respond to one of our blog articles or to an article in one of our publications, please mention your name, profession and organisation. This has been decided upon by Ariez in order to improve the quality of responses.

Sending emails to friends or colleagues

In several sections of this website you have the possibility to forward links or messages to your colleagues. The email adresss of your colleagues will only be used to send them the information in your name.

Sharing your personal data

If an agreement requires us to do so (e.g. sending a eNewsletter), your personal data may be shared with a subcontractor.

Personal, identifiable data may also be shared in the following situations:
• if sharing is required for legal purposes;
• if sharing is required in the context of a company audit or in order to protect the personal safety of customers or website users;
• if there is a sale, distance or any other transfer of the commercial exploitation (entirely or partially) of the website to which your personal data are connected.

In other situations, we will never transfer your personal identifiable data to third parties without your explicit consent. Personal data may, however, be shared, consolidated, with third parties for analytical purposes. In this case the data involved will not be traceable to any individual person.
